We want everyone at Citygate to feel genuinely cared for.

Not just on a Sunday, but through all of life's ups and downs. We're committed to journeying together, growing in faith, and becoming more like Jesus along the way.

How we support you

Life can be hard. Whether you're going through something big or just feeling the weight of everyday struggles, you don't have to carry it alone. At Citygate Church, we believe care isn't just for a few — it's something we want to be available to everyone. We offer several strands of support, so there's always somewhere to turn.

A note on confidentiality: Sharing personal things takes courage. Anything you tell our Pastoral Team stays confidential. In rare cases involving safety or illegal activity, we may need to act — but we'll always talk it through with you first.

  • A woman wearing a pale blue jumper smiles widely as she serves refreshments in paper cups to another woman in a purple coat.

    One-anothering

Care at Citygate starts with our community. We encourage everyone to look out for each other — celebrating the good times and showing up in the hard ones.

Friendships, Life Groups, and serving teams are all places where this happens naturally. You give and receive — because that's what family does.

    Life Groups

Life Groups are smaller gatherings where you can be truly known. If you're going through a tough season, let your Life Group leader know — they'll make sure you get the right support.

Not in a Life Group yet? We'd love to connect you to one.

  • A woman wearing a brown jumper gazes thoughtfully at an open Bible, lost in contemplation.

    Prayer support

Whatever you're facing, we'd love to pray with you. Our prayer support team is available every Sunday at the end of each meeting, at every site.

Just come forward — no appointment needed. This is one of the most powerful things we can do together.

  • Two teenage girls in black sit in a school hall, smiling and chatting together.

    Communion home visits

If getting to church in person is difficult, we'll come to you. Our team can visit you at home for communion, prayer, and a friendly face — at whatever frequency works for you.

  • A small, diverse congregation sits in a school hall, listening to a man in a blue jumper holding a microphone.

    Courses and workshops

We run practical courses to help you navigate life's big moments. These include the Marriage Course, Parenting Workshops, and a Bereavement Course.

These aren't lectures — they're spaces to learn, connect, and grow as disciples of Jesus.

  • A speaker in a blue jumper stands behind a wooden lectern, holding a microphone with one arm outstretched.

    Support for life's big moments

Marriages. Babies. Bereavements. Baptisms. Life is full of milestones — joyful and hard alike.

We'd love to walk alongside you through any of them. Just get in touch and we'll figure out the best way to support you.

    Community Hub

Our Citygate Centre is home to a Community Hub where you can access our Foodbank, Citizens Advice, and Wellbeing Support — all in one place.

You don't need to be a church member to use it.

  • A man wearing a maroon jumper sits holding a plate of food, smiling animatedly while engaged in conversation with someone.”

    One-to-one pastoral support

Sometimes life gets really hard, and you need more than a conversation over coffee.

We have a growing network of pastorally gifted people — staff and volunteers — who offer one-to-one support. This is a safe space to talk, be heard, and find a way forward.

Please note: our team members are not trained therapists, counsellors, or medical professionals. If you need clinical support, we'll help point you in the right direction.
