Prayer
About this talk:
Whether in joy, struggle, or uncertainty, God invites us to come to Him continually, trusting that He hears us and gives us His peace. Let this be an encouragement to make prayer a regular rhythm, knowing that through it, we grow closer to Him.

Devotional: Stop Praying Small
Most of us pray about our own lives. Our problems, our families, our needs. That's not wrong — but Jesus taught us to start somewhere bigger. What if the most important prayer we could pray isn't about us at all?
Discussion Questions
What does your prayer life actually look like day to day? What do you tend to pray about most?
Jesus starts the Lord's Prayer with "your kingdom come" — not "meet my needs." Why do you think that comes first?
The kingdom of God has been described as "the unhindered, unfiltered rule and reign of God." What would that look like in your home, your workplace, your street?
Do you think of faith mainly as a personal thing — your relationship with God — or as something bigger? Where did that idea come from?
When we pray "your kingdom come" in our area, it might mean we become the answer. Does that excite you or make you nervous? Why?
Try This This Week
Once a day, before your usual prayers, say: "Your kingdom come, your will be done — in me, in my family, in [name one person or place near you]." Keep it simple. Just make it the first thing.
Write down one person in your life who doesn't know Jesus. Pray for them by name this week. Ask God to bring his kingdom into their story — and stay open to being part of how that happens.
Prayer
God, we're honest — most of our prayers are about us. And we know you care about that stuff. But today we want to start bigger.
Your kingdom come. In us. In our families. In our streets. In the people we see every day.
Change what we care about. Break our hearts for what breaks yours. And give us the courage to be part of the answer.
Amen.
